Anyone who wishes to use Autodesk products under an Education license must complete the verification process. Autodesk Tinkercad is not included in this requirement

This verification requirement applies globally to any user who needs to obtain an Education license.

# Who Is Eligible for an Education License?

Students aged 13 and above who are currently enrolled in an eligible educational institution.
Teachers and faculty members actively working at a qualified educational institution.
Accredited educational institutions that require a Multi-User (Network) license for classrooms or lab deployments.

Note: Education licenses cannot be used for commercial purposes or any other profit-driven activities.

# What Qualifies as an Eligible Educational Institution?

An eligible educational institution is an institution officially recognized by a relevant government authority at the local, regional, or national level, with the primary purpose of providing education to students.
For example, middle schools, high schools, and universities are considered eligible educational institutions.

# What Should You Do If You Cannot Find Information or Certification from Your School or Institution?

If you cannot find information about your school or educational institution, you can fill out the "Request to Add School" form. This will initiate a review process to verify your institution's details. If approved, your school or institution will be added to the list within 30 days.

# Which entity verifies your eligibility for the license?

Autodesk has authorized SheerID as the entity responsible for verifying accounts eligible for an Education license.

# How to Check if Your Personal Account is Eligible for an Education License

There are three ways to determine if your account is eligible for an Autodesk license. For all methods, you must create an account and log in to the Autodesk Education Community

Instant verification: If you already have an account, Autodesk’s verification service provider, SheerID, will link your Autodesk account information with the details of an eligible educational institution. Once matched, your verification will be confirmed

Single sign-on: If your eligibility is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email to log into your institution's account for further verification

Document review: If the two methods above are unsuccessful, you will be required to provide certification from an eligible educational institution to prove that you are working or studying there

Note: The important thing here is that the information you provide to create your Autodesk account must match the information stored by your educational institution

# Required Documents for the Verification Process?

Your full name
The name of the educational institution you are attending or working at
The duration of your study or employment at the educational institution

In addition, the following documents are required:

Enrollment certificate
Tuition fee receipt
Student ID card
An official letter confirming your enrollment or employment from the educational institution
Transcript
Faculty ID card or a link to the faculty list on the institution's website

Note: When you begin the verification process, you have 14 days to submit your documents. After 14 days, the verification request will expire, and you will no longer have access to Autodesk's Education license through the Autodesk Education Community

# How long does it take to verify if you are eligible to use the Education license?

It depends on the time frame in each region, but it is usually approved immediately with two verification methods: Instant verification and Single sign-on. For Document review, it typically takes about 20 minutes (in the U.S.) and within 48 hours (for regions outside the U.S.).

In addition, requests to add a school or educational institution will be approved within 30 days.

# Can you use the software while waiting for verification?

You can use the software in Trial mode – valid for 30 days.

# How long is the license valid for?

Your license will be valid for 1 year from the date it is confirmed by Autodesk.

# Do you need to verify the license every time you use the account?

If your license is still valid, you do not need to do that.

# What should you do after one year of use when the license expires?

If you are still eligible for the license, you can continue using it by logging into Autodesk Education and repeating the verification process.

# What should you do if your Education license request is denied?

If your Education license request is denied, but you are still a student or faculty member working at an eligible educational institution, you can contact SheerID via email at customerservice@sheerID.com for assistance

# If you are not a student or faculty member?

You will still be eligible for an Education license in the following two specific cases:
